520 b영문초록 : This study was investigated for the characteristics of wastewater treatment for the synthetic wastewater and the refectory drainage treatment and the purification theory by the Upflow Anaerobic Sludge Blanket(UASB) process. The results were as follows. 1. The following equation of the purification theory for the UASB reactor was derived from the relationship between the specific substrate and the second reaction rate coefficient obtained from the proposed equation of UASB. ◁수식 삽입▷ (원문을 참조하세요) 2. The COD removal rate and the methane gas production rate were ranged 81~99 percent and 0.55 ~ 1.26 CH_(4) m^(3)/Vol.m^(3), respectively, at the COD loading rates of 4 ~ 14 kg/m^(3)·day with the influent COD concentration of 10,000 ~ 20,000 mg/l 3. For the influent COD concentration of 250 ~ 2000 mg/l with the COD loading rate of 0.13 ~ 1.0 kg/m^(3)·day, the COD removal rate showed 92∼97 percent and the methane production rate, approximately 90 percent. 4. Within HRT of 6 hours, the substrate removal rate depended on the influent concentration, while at more than the HRT of 12 hours, it did not be influenced by the influent COD. Also, the yield coefficient of microorganism increased in inverse proportion to the decrease of influent COD concentration and the decay rate of microorganism was constant regardless of the change of influent COD concentration. 5. The COD removal rate for the refectory drainage showed over 85 percent. The calculated values of the purification theory equation for the UASB reactor was very similar to the treated water quality of the refectory drainage. 6. The substrate removal rate was influenced considerablely by HRT with the variation of temperature at less than 25℃. 7. In particular, the waste sludge was few produced because of the balance of yield coefficient and decay rate in the reactor, so we can expect that the cost for the waste sludge treatment by UASB process was saved. 8. The granular was lost size as the result of long-terms operating at low loading rates of substrate. The internal and external granular structure was kept up normally at more than the influent COD concentration of 500 mg/l, on the other hand changed sparsely at less than 250 mg/l and the HRT of 0.14 days 9. The UASB process was differ from a general anaerobic treatment process in the substrate removal rate and efficiency, which was caused by packed granular sludge. It was possible to economical treatment at 20℃ and more than the HRT of 0.14 days.
