관광태도 결정요인이 지속가능한 관광지 선택에 미치는 영향

영문초록 : Through last decades, indiscreet industrial development has caused much environmental pollution as well as destruction of natural and cultural surroundings due to indiscreet industrial development. It is along this line that the United Nations Environment Program(UNEP 1987) has coined the term 'sustainable development' and many governments authorities as well as the UN, have geared towards implementing the idea. Though there might be a variety of considerations in relation to sustainable development, this author would like to focus on examining the tourism attitude and behavior. The behavioral scientists have revealed three factors that serve as a model of attitude, as well as its correlation with intention and behavior. However, those findings could be criticised limiting to the relationship between attitude and behavior while not including the sustainable tourism attitude. Therefore, in order to investigate how sustainable tourism are being chosen, structural relationship models have been selected in this study to evaluate the followings: the relationship between the decision factors of tourism attitudes and the tourism attitudes themselves; the relationship between the tourism attitudes and the preferred direction for development; and the relationship between the preferred direction for development and selection behavior. The followings are the analytic process of this research. First of all, theories on attitude decision factors based on the Fishbein model were scrutinized. Secondly, after examining the structural elements and items to be measured, a theoretical framework has been formulated. Thirdly, the structural relationship has been observed. This occurs in the sequence of examining the relationship between determining factors of tourism attitude and the choice behavior. Fourthly, to determine factors influencing the tourism attitudes, the preferred development orientation and preferred behavior were examined. According to the empirical observation, environmental awareness, participation level and tourism emotions were found being determinants affecting tourism attitudes, while the tourism attitudes were found affecting the preferred development direction, which in turn affected the preferred behavior. Lastly, the suggested model in this study was shown forming a structural relationship, and it is noteworthy that environment awareness shows, though not so significant statistically, positive influence upon sustainable tourism attitude unlike the other factors that reveal a negative correlation. Application of LISREL(linear structural relations) model shows that it is necessary to put appropriate rules and regulations for nature and culture-oriented tourist sites, as well as organizing an operating system so that tourist income may be allocated for the purpose of sustainable tourism. In conclusion, author found tourism emotions had a highly positive correlation to sustainable tourism attitudes. / 한글초록 : 자원의 무분별한 개발과 이용으로 인해 지구의 환경오염이 심각해지고 자연·문화환경의 훼손과 파괴가 증가하게 되어, 유엔환경계획기관(UNEP 1987)에서는 환경오염과 파괴를 방지하기 위해 '지속가능한 개발'이라는 용어를 공식적으로 사용하게 되고, 각국 정부와 유관기관에서도 환경의 지속적인 이용을 위한 방안 도출에 많은 관심을 기울이고 있다. 이러한 전세계적인 관심의 증가는 관광부분으로 확산되어 크게 두가지 관점으로 접근이 시도되고 있다. 첫째는 지속가능한 개발측면의 접근이고, 둘째는 지속가능한 관광측면에 대한 접근이다. 그러나 지속가능한 개발측면에 대한 접근은 개발대상지에 대한 복합적인 환경여건에 따라서 그 적용기법이 다양하기 때문에 본 연구에서는 연구의 범위를 지속가능한 관광측면으로 한정하여 관광객의 태도와 행동에 대하여 연구를 하고 있다. 이 분야에 대해 유럽과 북미지역에서 많은 연구가 있었으나 대다수 연구들은 접근원칙에 대한 개념적 연구와 사례연구로 한정되어 있기 때문에 관광객의 태도와 행동에 관한 연구는 미흡한 실정이고, 국내에서도 이 분야에 대한 연구가 진행되고 있으나, 생태 및 환경친화적 관광개념 및 개발방안 도출을 위한 연구가 주를 이루고 있고, 최근들어 태도척도에 관한 연구 등이 수행되고 있다. 행동과학자들에 의해서 태도에 관한 3요소 모델과 태도, 의도, 행동간의 구조적인 관계모델이 밝혀지고 있지만, 이러한 연구결과는 태도와 행동간의 관계에 국한되어 있고 지속가능한 관광태도를 중심으로 한 영향관계는 제시되지 않고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 지속가능한 관광지가 어떻게 선택되고 있는지에 대한 분석을 시도하기 위하여 관광태도 결정요인과 관광태도와의 관계, 관광태도와 선호 개발방향의 관계, 선호 개발방향과 선택행동의 관계 고찰을 위해 개념적 연구를 바탕으로 한 구조적인 관계 모형을 구축하고 있으며 다음과 같은 구체적인 연구목적을 설정하였다. 휘쉬바인(Fishbein) 모델에 근거한 태도 결정요인들에 대한 개념을 도출하여, 요인별 구성요인과 측정항목을 검토하여 이론적인 틀을 형성하고 있고, 관광태도 결정요인과 관광태도의 관계, 관광태도와 선호 개발방향, 그리고 선택행동으로 이어지는 구조적인 관계를 검증하고 있으며, 관광태도 결정요인 중 어떠한 요인이 관광태도, 선호 개발방향, 선택행동에 영향을 미치는 지를 파악하고자 한다. 실증분석 결과 환경인식과 참여 및 관광감정은 관광태도에 영향을 미치는 것으로 해석되고 있으며, 관광태도 또한 선호 개발방향에 영향을 미치고 있고, 선호 개발방향은 선택행동에 영향을 미치는 것으로 평가되고 있다. 끝으로 본 연구의 제안모델은 하나의 구조적인 관계를 형성하고 있는 것으로 밝혀지고 있으며, 특이점은 환경인식은 지속가능한 관광태도에 통계적으로 미약하게 양(+)의 영향을 미치고 있지만, 많은 측정문항은 음(-)의 관계를 형성하고 있는 것으로 나타나고 있다. 공분산구조분석인 LISREL(liner structural relations) 8.14의 분석결과 자연관광지와 문화관광지 및 생태관광지에는 적합한 지침과 규정이 마련되어 있어야 하며, 관광수입이 지속가능한 관광을 위한 목적으로 사용될 수 있는 운영체계가 필요함을 시사하고 있다. 끝으로 관광감정은 지속가능한 관광태도에 매우 긍정적인 영향 관계를 보이고 있음을 알 수 있다.
