This paper presents a summary of the measurement method for electromagnetic shielding effectiveness of automotive connection systems. Various parameters that define the shielding effectiveness are introduced, including the transfer impedance, screening attenuation, and coupling attenuation. The measurement methods for different parts of the automotive connection system are provided, including high voltage connectors, antenna cable assemblies and shielded twisted pairs. Some typical measurement results are illustrated and discussed.
