Combining near-infrared fluorescence with Brainbow to visualize expression of specific genes within a multicolor context

A new method for combining Brainbow with expression of a far-red fluorescent protein is highlighted. A useful strategy is identified for manipulating or tracking specific genes within a population of cells that are also labeled using multicolor approaches. A new transgenic Brainbow zebrafish line is also introduced.
