Biological tools allow extensive exploration of muscle physiology and pathology. The progressive appraisal of muscle function, as a result of research carried out to investigate myopathies has been a significant scientific advancement. This progress was followed by the development of biological markers that allow the study of very different situations in vivo. The current tests can be automated with immunochemical machines producing reliable results in a short period of time. Emergency response in trauma or evaluation is thus enhanced.
