Purpose : In light of the growing importance of green industry, this study aims to analyze export competitiveness of Korean environmental goods in the global market. Based on 54 environmental goods list proposed by APEC, this paper examined the trade structure of environmental goods during the past 10 years from 2010 to 2019. Research design, data, methodology : This study used the international market share(IMS), trade specialization index(TSI) and revealed comparative advantage index(RCA) for environmental goods in the global market. The underlying dataset was extracted from the UN COMTRADE database and comprises 54 Harmonised System codes. Results : As a result of using the export bias index analysis method of Korean environmental goods, the internal combustion engine characteristic tester (HS 9031.80), semiconductor devices (HS 8541.40), optical devices (HS 9013.80), machinery (HS 8479.89), and 8479 parts (HS 8479.90) are located in export specialization and comparative advantages. Conclusions : This study contributes to preparation for the trade liberalization in the environmental goods by providing empirical result; thus, helping the trajectory toward to the high level of green industry in Korea.
