18∼19세기는 동아시아 문화교류가 활발했던 시기였고, 서적의 유통과 매매도 중요한 부분이었다. 서적 유통과 매매의 집중지로서의 유리창 서점가는 문화교류의 중심지가 됐다. 서점가의 서점과 서적상도 서적의 유통 과정에서 문인들과 인연을 맺어 문화교류의 한 축을 이루고 있다. 건륭제 때 『사고전서』의 편찬을 위해 사고전서관이 생기면서 민간 善本을 찾아주는 오류거 서점의 역할이 특히 활성화되었다. 오류거 서점 주인은 청나라 문인들과 폭넓게 교유했을 뿐 아니라 조선 지식인들과도 오랜 기간 밀접히 친분을 유지해 왔다. 이 논문에서는 청나라 문인들의 史料와 조선 사신의 연행록 관련 자료를 조사하여 오류거 서점의 당시 위상과 영향을 정리하였다. 오류거 서점의 경영이념, 판매방식, 서적 서목, 문인들과의 교유 등에 관한 내용을 한중 양국 지식인의 기록을 통해 상세하게 검토하여, 오류거 서점이 서적을 매개로 어떻게 당시 문화교류의 가교역할을 했는지와 이덕무ㆍ박지원ㆍ박제가ㆍ유득공ㆍ남공철로 대표되는 조선 사신들과 어떻게 밀접한 연계를 지속해 왔는지 살펴보았다. 오류거 서점 주인인 도씨 부자는 紳商의 고상한 품성으로 한중 지식인의 찬사를 받았고, 결국 오류거 서점을 한중 지식인이 신뢰하는 문화교류의 장으로 만들었다. 그 명성은 조선 사신들이 연행록에 상세히 기록하여 조선 지식인들에게 널리 알려졌기 때문에 북경에 간 조선 사신들도 오류거 서점을 청나라 문인들과 교류의 거점으로 삼고 오류거 서점에서 청나라 문인들과 폭넓게 교유하였다.
The 18th and 19th centuries were a period of active cultural exchanges in East Asia, and the flow of books was also an important part. The Liulichang Bookstore Street, as a concentration of books, has naturally become a center of cultural exchange. Bookstores and book dealers in Bookstore Street have also become connected with literati due to the flow of books, and have become an important link in cultural exchanges. With the establishment of Institute of Sikuquanshu, Wuliuju Bookstore, which searched for rare folk books for Institute of Sikuquanshu, was particularly active during this period. Not only did Wuliuju Bookstore make extensive contacts with the literati of the Qing Dynasty, but also maintained a long-term close relationship with the Chosun intellectuals. This article sorts out the influence of Wuliuju Bookstore at that time by examining the historical materials of Qing literati and relevant materials of Yeonhaengrok燕行錄. Focusing on the business philosophy of Wuliuju Bookstore, sales methods, book lists, and contacts with literati, carefully searched the records of Chosun and Qing literati, and explored the role of Wuliuju Bookstore as a bridge in cultural exchanges at that time, using books as a medium. And close ties with The Chosun envoys represented by Lee Deok-mu(李德懋), Park Ji-won(朴趾源), Park che-ga (朴齊家), and Yoo Deuk-Kong(柳得恭), and Nam Gong-cheol(南公轍). The owner of Wuliuju Bookstore, Tao and his son, won the praise of Chosun and Qing literati with the noble character of Confucian businessmen, and finally made Wuliuju Bookstore to be the cultural exchange place trusted by Chosun and Qing literati. Its reputation was widely circulated among Chosun Intellectuals because of the detailed records of Wuliuju Bookstore in the Yeonhaengrok, so the Chosun envoys to Beijing also regarded the Wuliuju Bookstore as a base for exchanges with the Qing Dynasty literati. At the Wuliuju Bookstore, the Chosun envoys had In-depth and extensive communication with the Literati of the Qing Dynasty.
