The emergence and advancement of fourth industrial revolution technologies, coupled with the accelerated adoption and expansion of untact trends triggered by COVID-19, have led to the proliferation of unmanned systems in the retail and distribution sector. Particularly, the impact of COVID-19 has resulted in an increased demand for contactless consumption, and rising labor costs have further propelled the rapid spread of unmanned stores, including unmanned convenience stores, integrating IT technologies in the retail landscape. In this study, we extracted the key characteristics of unmanned stores and investigated and analyzed their impact on customer satisfaction and intention to revisit. Additionally, considering the untact tendency as a characteristic of the millennial generation and the untact era, wherein a preference for non-face-to-face interactions through digital devices is pronounced over direct contact with people, we examined the relationship between this untact tendency and its significant influence on users' untact services. This study conducted a survey targeting users of unmanned stores and analyzed a total of 397 valid responses. The results of the analysis revealed that the key characteristics of unmanned stores include technological features (technological usefulness, technological ease of use, security) and service features (perceived enjoyment, perceived innovativeness, perceived risk, price value). Ultimately, technological features such as technological usefulness, technological ease of use, and service features including perceived enjoyment, perceived innovativeness, price value, and the untact tendency were found to significantly influence customer satisfaction, while security did not show a significant impact. Additionally, perceived risk was identified as having a negative impact on customer satisfaction. The findings of this study can serve as foundational data for formulating strategies to enhance customer satisfaction and intention to revisit in the context of unmanned stores in South Korea, a country known for having the world's highest convenience store density and a leading utilization of digital technologies and innovative services.
