This research is aimed at analysing the Chinese students’ preference for studying in Korea and educational expectation as future international students, by selecting dance majors among the Chinese students. In order to achieve this purpose, survey was conducted on 45 students, the graduates and undergraduates in Beijing Dance University and Sikang Teachers College. The specific research results are as follows;Firstly, as the results of examining general perception related to studying abroad among Chinese dance majors through the classification into three categories; perception on studying abroad, language study on the hoped-for country, access route to the information on studying abroad, and the country where they wish to study, it was revealed that while the intention to study abroad is high among Chinese majors, the preparation for it is low, and in particular, the priority needs to be set up to address the difficulty from language communication while studying abroad. In addition as the result of looking into the route to obtain information on studying abroad, it was found out that they get the information from relatives and friends who are experienced in studying abroad, and they prefer to study in America, followed by Korea. Secondly, the preference for studying in Korea was examined by dividing it into general preference for studying in Korea, the preference for each university, and the specialty. As the result of this, it was found out that the general preference for studying in Korea was 3.54, in mean value, reflecting high preference for studying in Korea among Chinese students, wishing to study Korean traditional dance for the specific reason. And then in the preference for the university, Kyunghee University was rated the highest, since it is thought to help apply for teachers by meeting the requirements for the future career and job. Lastly, the results show that integrated curriculum of theory and practice was preferred as the major field, followed by the preference for Korean dance. Thirdly, the expected factor of studying in Korea was investigated by dividing it into the purpose of studying in Korea, expectation by the factor of deciding to be an international student, and the expectation on studying in Korea. The result suggests that the desire to study diverse dances was the highest as the purpose of studying in Korea. And then the general expectation for studying in Korea by Chinese students was found to be high overall, and in particular the education quality in the hoped-for university was high, preceded by the safety in studying in Korea, reflecting the high educational expectation among Chinese dance majors. Lastly, much knowledge with excellent teachers and the life in Korea was the high expectation and specifically the study of Korean traditional dance and participation in diverse dance performances were rated as the high expectation.Fourthly, the result of examining the educational expectation while studying in Korea shows that the study of new knowledge with good teachers was the highest expectation, and besides that they expected to study Korean educational style, method of traditional dance, and difference between the dance of ethnic Koreans in China etc. The detailed study reveals the high expectation on studying Korean traditional dance and participating in diverse performances.To summarize, currently the preference for studying in Korea among Chinese dance majors was found to be high, the expectation consists in new knowledge, in particular study of Korean traditional dance and good teachers. Furthermore, the desire to participate in diverse performances was also high, not just the acquisition of knowledge.
