Photovoltaic(PV) systems have a number of merits and unique advantages over conventional power-generating technologies: PV systems can be designed for a variety of applications and operational requirements, and are modular, easily expandable and even transportable in some cases; Energy independence and environmental compatibility are two attractive features of PV systems; The fuel (sunlight) is free, and no noise or pollution is created from operating PV systems. But it also has some shortcomings. Because of the imperfect of the technology, equipment of the solar cell is very expensive. Until now, it can not be widely used. Because of the production processes of photovoltaic cell panels exist differences, and the efficiency loss for combination of different cells, electrical mismatched or cracked cells, or interconnect failures, which causes the hot spot phenomenon, the actual solar array power output is often lower than the theoretical design requirements which causes the hot spot phenomenon, the actual solar array power output is often lower than the theoretical design requirements. So it is very important to develop a monitoring system to make sure the photovoltaic cells work normally. But now the detection of Photovoltaic power generation system at home and abroad only focus on the overall study, namely, photovoltaic power station is only concerned about the output of the voltage, current and power and so on, but rarely concerned about the influence of local factors to the whole generation system, can not describe the work situation of each solar cell, when the solar cell break down there is no alarm. Based on this the article focused on the study of photovoltaic solar panels. On this issue, a solar panel detecting system was developed to inspect the solar panels and by wavelet analysis find if there was singular which indicated the broken-down of cells, and provide data for staff, ensure the high output efficiency of photovoltaic power plant.
