A civilization is determined by several factors, including language, writing, blood, race, religious beliefs, and cultural customs, some of which are strongly correlated and some are weakly correlated. For Chinese civilization, religious belief is the factor is relatively weak. The witch culture and sacrificial culture in the ancient society of Xia, Shang and Zhou did not follow the track of religion. Instead, starting from the Zhou Dynasty, sacrificial activities were politicized and became part of national rituals and politics. The Shih-ching is a treasure of Chinese literature. Such works not only have extremely high literary value, but also contain rich cultural significance. From the Shih-ching we can see that, The sacrificial activities changed from the pure worship of the gods in the Shang Dynasty to the activities with political functions, which were endowed with an ethical color and assumed moral education. The change of this nature has an extremely important impact on the history of Chinese culture. This article starts from the content of sacrifice in The Shih-ching combined with other historical materials and documents, following the four most important elements in sacrifice activities, including: sacrifice objects, sacrifice things, sacrifice procedures and sacrifice functions, to analyze the process of the transformation from primitive superstitious sacrifices to political sacrifices. The interpenetration between culture and politics does not happen overnight.
