Multiplexing several frequency bands for subsystems at VHF, UHF, and/or L-Band to a single monopole/dipole-type antenna is preferred for small satellites. However, a monopole/dipole antenna over such a frequency span will have a frequency dependent impedance that is usually low resistive highly capacitive at the lower frequencies. The low antenna resistance and high loadline match requires large impedance transformations, which means that each match becomes highly sensitive. This paper presents a methodology to multiplex matching network to a common antenna port that manages the matching network sensitivity. The design and measurement results are also presented for an example triplexer circuit.
