4D products are the important products of geographic information resource, China had an independent and controllable construction capacity of global 1:50000 scale 4D products using the ZY3 and TH1 satellite imagery. However, due to the serious lack of high-precise control data for overseas region, an improved approach of overseas 4D products generation using the public geographic information data was proposed in this paper. 509 pairs of ZY3 and 5 pairs of TH satellite image were used in the experimental region of middle-western part of America, and 16 high-precise GCPs and reference DEM were utilised for the accuracy verification of block adjustment and 4D products quality. It can be seen from the experimental results that the proposed approach in this paper can meet the horizontal and vertical accuracy requirement of overseas 1:50000 surveying and mapping in China, and 1685 sheets of DOM, DSM, DEM and DLG data generated based on the approach proposed in this paper were all the level of excellent or good, the examination conclusion of which were all "qualified".
