Bacterial foraging optimization (BFO) algorithm is a new bionic algorithm to imitate the Escherichia coli phagocytosis food behavior in the human gut. According to the characteristic of BFO algorithm to carry out the efficient parallel searching in parameter space, a self-tuning strategy of PID controller parameters is put forward. In that the standard BFO algorithm has less information exchange capacity among individuals to affect the convergence effect, the particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm is adopted to improve the information exchange capacity of BFO algorithm. The simulation results show the superiority and effective of the proposed PID controller parameters self-tuning method.
