This paper briefly introduces the effort focused on developing an integrated cognitive model of the manual RVD task in the ACT-R cognitive architecture. The descriptions about the manual RVD task and ACT-R have been shown and preliminary analysis of the control strategies has also been made. The comparison results of the performance between human operators and the cognitive model show that the control strategy can simulate behaviors of human operators in a simplified RVD task. The future work will concentrate on the implementation of control strategies in more general RVD tasks, and model validation.
