Ensuring robust recovery mechanisms becomes crucial as databases and database management systems (DBMS) grow in scale and complexity to address system failures caused by various factors. This research conducts a comprehensive recovery analysis of three prominent relational database management systems - Oracle, PostgreSQL, and DB2. The study evaluates these DBMSs' recovery capabilities and performance, offering valuable insights for database administrators. The experimental setup is designed to test the three DBMS in predefined ultimate scenarios to assess their recovery capabilities. The results achieved show the effectiveness of Oracle's recovery system in minimizing downtime, unlike DB2 and Postgres, which require full downtime during the restoration process. However, when assessing the amount of data recovery, all tested RDBMS could fully recover and restore data post-disaster.
