High-resolution Time Digital Converter (TDC), a time measurement tool for digitizing time periods to picosecond precision. At present, it is widely used in the frontiers of scientific research fields such as satellite navigation, radar positioning, medical imaging, and high energy physics. Moore's law indicates the rapid progress and development of semiconductor technology. The analogue method has gradually withdrawn from the historical stage, and the digital method based on FPGA (Field program able array) has become the mainstream direction of high-resolution time measurement technology research due to its high flexibility, low cost and short development cycle. In this work, by improving a new phase shift clock sequencing scheme of NUMP (nonuniform multiphase) TDC, a clock sequencing scheme based on FPGA hardline logic resources is designed and verified by simulation. Through simulation analysis, it is found that the hardware sequencing scheme can significantly reduce the time of clock sequencing. To advance the study of high-precision temporal measurement of brain PET.
