Multilevel inverter (MLI) topologies are getting popular these days but less number of switches is also a big challenge because it would be more economical and effective solution. The article consists a reduced switch asymmetrical MLI topology with switched dc sources is presented. This topology produces 13 level output voltage with 8 switches and 3 asymmetrical DC source voltages. MATLAB/Simulink platform is used for simulating the presented asymmetrical multilevel inverter topology.
