Increasing carbon emission calls for new operation strategy for power sub-stations. This paper proposes an optimal operation strategy for the low-carbon power sub-station. Properties of the multiple flexible resources in the power substations are fully considered. The optimization strategy considering the schedule of battery energy storage and thermal energy storage and the cost of the carbon emission. The whole optimization model is formulated as a mixed-integer linear programming (MILP) problem. Simulations based on considering multiple load demands are carried out to validate the effectiveness of the proposed strategy. The results in the simulations show that the proposed can decrease the curtailment of the generated power from photovoltaic, the carbon emission and the overall cost.
