Prosthetics, also known as artificial limb, is a kind of medical instrument for people with limb loss or dysfunction caused by congenital or acquired factors. With the development of global intelligence, the concept of intelligent prosthesis has been put forward, and reaches some people in need. Improving people's life has always been the direction of scholars' efforts, this paper included the current mainstream sensing methods applied in the industry of intelligent prosthetics, as well as their principles and partial characteristics, the methods of reading muscle signals, and the criteria for the selection of prosthetics materials. Beside that AI could also been used to improve the ability of the Prosthetics and make it even smarter than the original body part. It is hopeful to make progress in related research in the future. A well developed smart limb should act as an "existing body" or even a "better body" rather than an "extension of the existing body", so that more people can avoid suffering and live a healthy life.
