The article explores a 16-year-old blind and retarded girl's ability to identify the day when different dates occurred above her general level of functioning and beyond what can be expected from guessing. This ability was examined in terms of it being the girl's coping mechanism of adjustment or the effect of possible brain damage. The interpretation of her calendar calculation abilities as deficiency produced is also cited.
