A study examined the impact of time of day preferences on examination performance. Participants were 78 undergraduate students in the U.K. who were grouped according to their time of day preferences. Results revealed that students with morning and intermediate preferences scored significantly better on a morning examination than did students with evening preferences. Implications of the results, particularly in relation to computer-based examinations, are discussed.
