The article discusses how inquiry-based lessons in science can be combined into the framework of problem-based learning (PBL). PBL is defined as inquiry-based learning in which teachers act as facilitators for student-driven investigation that is focused on a current, local problem. In a student activity, students were asked to determine the five possible causes of lobster shell disease.
