The samples were beverages (n=51), other processed products (n=39), candies (n=8), gum (n=7) and health functional foods (n=7) sold in online and offline stores. The range of caffeine content per serving size of food was follows : beverage 0.1-170.9 mg, other processed products 0.01-209.3 mg, candies 1.7-13.6 mg, gum 1.7-7.0 mg. For some beverages and other processed products, caffeine content of some products exceeded the recommended daily intake caffeine of adolescents. Food products with added caffeine are being introduced as gum, jelly beans, candies, and food supplementary, but there are no restrictions on caffeine intake and caffeine labeling regulations are limited to liquid foods containing more than 0.15 mg/mL of caffeine, so children and adolescents who are sensitive to caffeine need to be careful when consuming foods caffeine containing ingredients.
