BACKGROUND:: Induced by external magnetic field, the chemotherapy drug loaded on magnetic nanocarrier can be directly collected on target therapy area, which will enhance the curative effect and reduce the toxicity and adverse reaction. OBJECTIVE:: To prepare sodium alginate-modified magnetic nanoparticles and cisplatin-loaded magnetic nanoparticle medicine, and to study the magnetic properties of the products. METHODS:: One-step reaction by the hydrolysis of Fe in the aqueous solution of ethanolamine was employed for the preparation of magnetic nanoparticles. Sodium alginate was used as coupling agent to prepare magnetic nanoparticle medicine making magnetic nanoparticles and cisplatin interconnected. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:: X-ray diffraction patterns proved that the product was pure γ-Fe2O3 phase. Transmission electron microscope images indicated that the average diameter of magnetic nanoparticles was about 10 nm, which were coated by cisplatin. Super paramagnetic behavior could be detected in the magnetization curve. A relaxation rate of 0.116 02 mmol/ms was obtained by nuclear magnetic resonance. The as-prepared magnetic nanoparticles and the cisplatin-loaded magnetic nanoparticle medicine showed a good stability, the physical properties of which revealed that it had the potential characteristics as magnetic nanoparticle targeted medicine.Qiu JX, Lei SJ, He YQ, Mao ZF.
