Police are trying to prevent theft of crops by expanding CCTVs and enhancing patrols, but as it is impossible to prevent all crimes with limited manpower and equipment, efforts are needed more aggressively. Two types of sensors have been developed to develop an anti-theft device for ginseng, first is magnetic sensor and second is position displacement sensor. The magnetic sensor recognizes the metal movement and detect thieves that breaking into ginseng plantation. Position displacement sensor detect the moment of theft ginseng by a thief. Magnetic sensor is used to detect movement of the metal. Accordingly, if more than 2 sensors are detected within one second, it is recognized as a vehicle to avoid malfunctions caused by movement of the vehicle on nearby agricultural roads. Position displacement sensors have been programmed to detect fine displacement within the sensor and to notify it to the cell phone when extracting ginseng. For performance test verification, infrared video cameras were installed at three points where the position of the sensors could be best sight, and recorded at all times. Every operation of the sensor has been programmed to be automatically recorded on the computer. Detection performance was analyzed by comparing the recorded data and images. The performance test results showed that the detection performance of the magnetic sensor made five malfunctions during the two-week test, but it was determined to be the detection of the surrounding electromagnetic waves. And position displacement sensor showed 100% detecting and report performance.
