Needless to say, the core value of integrating curriculum is the holistic growth for learners. However, there have been some issues such as needing a compromise for the contents of a subject, convenient integration in disregard of the subject and real life, and integrating for integration. Furthermore, there are many doubts for effectiveness of integration because it merely became a rhetoric which doesn`t concretely guarantee the holistic growth of learners. Now, we will explore for effective and concrete integration considering realities so far. This study is a preparation for KDB-based interdisciplinary integration, and it involves KDB approach as a principle of interdisciplinary for holistic growth of learners, and the level of the unit for 5th or 6th grade. There are filters in interdisciplinary integration: the most important knowledge that learners should know(Know), things that learners should do(Do), value or attitude that learners should have(BE). Each content of a subject will be extracted as an interdisciplinary concepts or knowledge and interdisciplinary functions through these filters, and affective factor such as attitude and values supports it for holistic growth of learners. Besides, autonomy and responsibility are emphasized at this point, this interdisciplinary integration can be an alternative way to ensure holistic growth of learners.
