The objective of this study is to analyze the use of connective adverbs in the introduction parts of master’s theses by taking academics-targeted Chinese Korean learners as an example. Accordingly, 100 theses in the field of Korean language education were selected on RISS and analyzed from perspectives of use diversity, preference and error tendency. First, in terms of use diversity and preference, the introduction parts of 100 theses written by Chinese learners were compared with that by Korean native speakers in the field of Korean education. It was found that the connective adverbs used by Chinese Korean learners were as diversified as Korean native speakers, with similar preferences. In terms of error tendency, the errors made by Chinese Korean learners mainly include use errors, repeated use of the same connective adverbs, lack of necessary connective adverbs, and use of colloquially connective adverbs due to misconception of semantic relations and similar morphology. This study is conducted to enrich the study on the use of connective adverbs in Textlinguistik, as it is recognized that there is few studies on connective adverbs by taking Textlinguistik theory as basis and focusing on academics-targeted Chinese Korean learners.
