There is an increasing demand for personal cooling products to reduce stress caused by heat and improve work efficiency, as the heat wave continues due to global warming. This study aims to design personal cooling neckband as a wearable device using flexible thermoelectric elements. Through basic research, we conducted a case study on cooling product and the understanding of flexible thermoelectric elements. The 3D model was printed out to be worn by the user, and the first working prototype was developed based on the highest rated model. The first walking prototype was worn and used by users during simple exercise and activities, and the user's needs and insights were derived through opinions and behavior analysis. User research on 3D models and working prototypes was conducted to derive 11 design strategies. In addition, we devised a service model to maximize the usability of the cooling neckband, and developed a final prototype that reflected this. In order to verify the effectiveness of the final developed prototype, design strategy, and service model, expert evaluation was conducted to verify the feasibility. It is expected to be used as an evaluation index of the developed product as a design guide of a cooling neckband applying thermoelectric elements through a design strategy study.
