Since the 2000s, Korea's musical market has grown steadily and developed into an industry with a market value of about 400 billion won. Thanks to this growth, the musical industry has recently been legally recognized as an independent genre in the field of performing arts through the revision of the Public Performance Act and the Culture and Arts Promotion Act. While the musical market has been shrinking due to COVID-19, filming the performances and screening the performance video through online platform have been common. Unlike offline musicals, online musicals have the advantage of being able to enjoy musicals non-face-to-face, but their limitation is that the realism, one of the main characteristics of performing arts, is excluded in online musicalss. In this point, there is a need of basic empirical research on online musicals that are rapidly becoming common in current musical market. Therefore, this study attempted to investigate the effect of the consumption value of musicals on online musical viewing satisfaction, revisit intention, and offline musical visit intention. Furthermore, the purpose of this study was to examine whether the viewing satisfaction and re-visit intention of online musical have a mediating effect on the effect of online musical viewing satisfaction and revisit intention on offline musical visit intention. An online survey was conducted from October 23 to October 27, 2023 for those who had experience in watching online musicals. Total of 200 copies of the data were used to analyze the results, and the SPSS 28.0 statistical package program was used for data analysis. The analysis results of this study are summarized as follows. First, the consumption values that have a high influence on the satisfaction of online musical viewing were in the order of social value, functional value, emotional value, and rare value. The consumption values that have a high influence on the intention to revisit online musicals were in the order of emotional value, functional value, rare value, and situational value. Consumption values that have a high influence on the intention to visit offline musicals were in the order of emotional value, rare value, and functional value, and situational value was analyzed to have a negative effect. Second, online musical viewing satisfaction had a high impact on online musical revisit intention, and online musical viewing satisfaction and online musical re-watching intention both had a significant impact on offline musical visit intention. Third, in the relationship between consumption value and offline musical visit intention, the mediating effect of online musical viewing satisfaction and online musical revisit intention could not be confirmed. In academic terms, this study is meaningful in that it conducted an study targeting online musical visitors in line with the time of the spread of online musicals. In addition, it is meaningful in that it is a study covering both the online musicals and offline musicals to investigate the effect of viewing satisfaction and revisit intention of online musicals on offline musical visit intention. In practical terms, musical companies will be able to plan to appeal to a wider range of audiences by referring to the results of this study. In addition, it will be possible to promote musicals noting that functional value has the highest influence on the satisfaction of online musical visitors, and emotional value has the highest influence on online musical revisit intention and offline musical visit intention.
