Performing arts as a kind of modern art can be defined as an art form in which actors play roles and create characters through stage action. Performing Arts in the performance that directly attracts the audience, arouses the audience's strong emotional intimacy. The actors’ process to create the images of opera’s characters and the audience’s music appreciation are synchronized: when the action process of actors' creation stops, because of the end of the whole play, the appreciation process of the audience ends simultaneously. As two countries in East Asia, South Korea and China share many historical, cultural, and political commonalities, particularly in terms of a way to have accepted western musical influences. The two countries started to be influenced by western music and opera in a similar period. However, before the first national opera appeared in both countries, this process had taken on different features and developed in the historical background and political environment of the two countries. Thus, in understanding Korean opera and Chinese opera , it is necessary to be aware that they are works born in different nationalities and cultures. Although there are great differences in the national inherent culture and historical development between the two countries, the form or framework of the two operas is based on traditional operas. Looking back on the development of opera in China and South Korea, the Korean opera and the Chinese opera are the operas representing the two nations. Through the analysis of the creative background and the artistic features of the cultural forms of the two works, the similarities and differences can be understood more deeply. From this point of view, as long as South Korean operas maintain the closest international relationship with Chinese ones within East Asia, it is worth selecting the representative of China and the two countries and for analysis and research. Therefore, through this study, I will provide a proper guideline for understanding the reasons why the popularity of two operas has been maintained. It is hoped that the opera and the opera will be analyzed to provide appropriate meanings in studying the characteristics of the development of performing arts in Korea and China.
