With the development of the world economy, energy consumption and waste emission have posed a threat to the environment, therefore, sustainable development is put forward. According to relevant statistics, from 2011 to 2017, with China's rapid economic development the energy consumption and waste emission are also rising. This paper conducts the static and dynamic analysis of eco-efficiency in 31 regions of China by applying resource, economy and waste emission indicators, BCC DEA model and Malmquist productivity growth index DEA model. It not only evaluates the effect of sustainable development related policies, but also provides theoretical basis for how to realize better sustainable development in various regions in the future. Studies show that reducing the waste of water has contributed greatly to the improvement of eco-efficiency over the past six years. In general, China's economic development is mainly resulting from the improvement of technology, the production efficiency improving methods such as the production mode and industrial structure have not changed much. The development situation of different regions is also different. In some regions, the model of intensive economic development is already mature, some regions are undergoing reform while some regions are still following the extensive economic development method. Based on the results, this paper discusses the related policies and also the future development and research directions.
