With the development of digital technology , the integration of digital media and education has attracted much attention. However, due to the particularit of young children, it makes much difference between kindergarten and primary or secondary schools in the integration of digital media with education. The advantages to teach with digital media are well known. Under the call of strongly popularizing digital media teaching from all circles of society, we should pay much attention to how the utilization of digital media by thepreschool teachers is in China, and what problems we still have during the implementation. In order to investigate the actual situation of Chinese Preschool Teachers' use of digital media, we have carried out this research. According to the characteristics of preschool teachers and based on the actual situation of the use of digital media, this paper investigates the necessit of using digital media for preschool teachers in China, so as to regenerate the educational significance of digital media as a media used in the field of preschool education. In order to implement this research, we sent questionnaires to 400 kindergarten teachers in Yunnan Province, China, via Internet within 15 days from April 25, 2022 to May 9, 2022. Finally we received 374 replies totally for analysis. In terms of the final analysis, the summary is as follow: First, most Chinese preschool teachers answered they had experience in using digital media. Related to the most used t pes of digital media by teachers and children, the answer for software is 'word processor', and for hardware , is ‘computer’. Regarding the question if they have received the education of digitalmedia in school or further education, fewer teachers said no. Second, more teachers in kindergarten thought it was necessary to use digital media. There is a big difference between the teachers who thought if it was necessary to use digital media. Regarding the question whether it is necessary to use digital media for teaching, most of the reasons for those who think it isnecessary are that it is easier to store documents related to activities and evaluations, and the reasons for those who think that it is not necessary are that they do not know which equipment is suitable. Although more than half of teachers thought it was necessary , but instead of the need of young children, itwas more necessary for teachers. Third, according to the investigation results of the use of digital media by different teachers at different ages, it shows that people at the age from 25 to 29 mostly use different kinds of digital media, while few people aged from 35 to 39 use them, and the difference is very obvious. And depends on the differentteaching experience, the digital media is most used by the teachers with more than 10 years’ experience and least used by the teachers with less than 1 year experience. The difference is very significant. At the same time , as to the final degree, the teachers who graduate from a four-year universit keep the highestutilization rate of digital media. Based on the above research results, this paper discusses how teachers and young children could make use of digital media in a correct way and how necessary it is to use them.
