In this paper, we present Self-Checkinglook-up-table (LUT) based on Scalable ErrorDetection Coding (SEDC) scheme for use in faulttolerantreconfigurable architectures. SEDC schemehas shorter latency than any other existing codingschemes for all unidirectional error detection and theLUT execution time remains unaffected with selfcheckingcapabilities. SEDC scheme partitions thecontents of LUT into combinations of 1-, 2-, 3- and 4-bit segments and generates corresponding checkcodes in parallel. We show that the proposed LUTwith SEDC performs better than LUT withtraditional Berger as well as Partitioned BergerCoding schemes. For 32-bit data, LUT with SEDCtakes 39% less area and 6.6 times faster for selfcheckingthan LUT with traditional Berger Codingscheme.
