This study aims to explore the knowledge structure of digital twin and metaverse, which are the main technologies of digital transformation. Since academic papers are one of the representative robust explicit knowledge, this study collects the published papers datasets from the Web of Science database, and then build a co-word network based-on the co-occurence relationships of author keywords of the published papers. In particular, we present the knowledge structure of digital twin and metaverse by identifying key nodes through centrality analysis, extracting the maximum spanning tree, and performing clustering analysis. Our analyzed results confirm that there is no strong direct connection between digital twin and metaverse in the current knowledge structure, and metaverse technology is preemptively applied in the educational field.
