Because of the damaging effects of UV-rays, many kinds of UV-shielding materials have been developed. Although semiconductor nanoparticles are used as inorganic UV-shielding materials, the comfort and covering capability of nanoparticles applied on skin are generally moderate. In order to improve the comfort and covering ability calcia-doped ceria (Ce1-xCaxO2-x) nanoparticles (donated as: CDC) were coated on the surface of plate-like potassium lithium titanate (K0.8Li0.27Ti1.73O4) (donated as: PLT) by a sol-gel coating method.
