The purpose of this study is to develop a coastal area model that can predict shoreline changes and formation of sand bar, sand spits around river-mouth. The presented model is based on the depth-averaged nearshore current model. The bottom topographical changes around river-mouth were simulated under various wave and river flow conditions. The topographical changes such as a sand spits formation were reproduced. It was found that the reproduced topographical changes were similar to the results in the previous studies. The validity of the model was investigated and discussed.
