The number of residential solar power installed in a single year has dropped to about one-third from the peak in 2012, and has been flat in recent years since then, and the intention to introduce it continues to be low. In order to popularize solar power for the realization of a sustainable society, it is important to identify the factors that can improve the installation intention. We analyze the relationship between the number of newspaper reports on global warming and solar power, changes in environmental awareness, and the installation intention rate using time-series data.
