She was managed in the neonatal intensive care unit and discharged at the age of 170 days. The placenta showed white infarcts grossly and extensive fibrin deposition around the chorionic villi histopathologically. Therefore a diagnosis of MPVFD was made. In this case, immunohistochemistry showed IgG and alkaline phosphatase(ALP)expression in the villi near the fibrin. We suspected the involvement of the IgG-ALP complex, known to be found in placental villi of RhD-incompatible pregnancies, in the development of MPVFD. Herein, we report a case of MPVFD in an RhD-incompatible pregnancy, including a literature review.
