This study was conducted to analyze the local people's perceptions, attitudes, and supportive cooperative's relations to cultural events during the promotion activities of the Gwangju World Swimming Championships in 2019. A total of 250 questionnaires were used to achieve the purpose of this study, and the statistical technique used to derive the final result was a structural model equation. The conclusions from this study are as follows. First, the environmental factors of cultural events in the Gwangju World Swimming Championships 2019 have a positive effect on the perception of local residents. Second, local people's perception had a positive effect on attitude. Third, local people's perception did not have a positive effect on support cooperation intention. Fourth, the attitudes of local people had a positive effect on the willingness to support cooperation. In conclusion, mega sport events and cultural events were found to be in a win-win relationship, suggesting that they should go beyond simple sporting events to promote local culture, exchanges, regional promotions, and tourism content development.
