Regarding changes and issues in the curriculum revision of ethics in the 2015 integrated curriculum between liberal arts and natural sciences, this paper aims to outline a tentative draft of Life and Ethics and discuss the direction of improvement. The primary goal of Life and Ethics is to cultivate the ability of students to critically think and solve ethical problems in modern society based on various ethical viewpoints and to do moral behavior in real life. This paper examines the changes in characteristics, goals and contents of the subject Life and Ethics and discusses two issues of the revision plan. Three topics in newly developing curriculum are following. firstly, the optimalization of quantity and level of learning thema. secondly, the improvement of overlapping contents between Life and Ethics and other subjects such as Moral Education in middle school or Ethics and Thought, Integrated Society in high school. And, thirdly, the inclusion of ethical issues expected in the future. And two important issues related with such changes discussed, especially focused on the disproportionate emphasis on western ethics and the relevance of reduction of Korean Unification related learning thema. Since the characteristics, goals and contents of Life and Ethics discussed in this paper is not yet fixed. And so, there could be small or big changes in the process of complement. More discussion and collection various opinions and viewpoints on newly developing curriculum from members of ethics community should be intensified.
