At a time when consumers' ethical consumption awareness is growing, this study aims to identify the level of importance awareness and practice in various areas of ethical consumption and seek necessary measures to improve ethical consumption practice by consumers in the future. For this study, data were collected through survey questionnaires filled out by 320 adult consumer respondents. Statistical analysis was achieved by using descriptive statistics, t-test, reliability analysis, importance-practice analysis. The important results of this study can be summarized as follows: First, in verifying differences in the importance and practice of ethical consumption by consumers, all items except ‘employee respect’ (both high in importance and practice) showed statistically significant differences, and all items except ‘low consumption of imported food’ showed higher importance than practice. Second, as a result of the IPA (Importance Practice Analysis) of ethical consumption area, the first quadrant(both high in importance and practice) consisted mainly of the question of implementing eco-friendly consumption and ‘employee respect’. The second quadrant(low in importance but high in practice) consisted of the question of “low consumption of imported food”. The third quadrant(both low in importance and practice) was mainly about the practice of local consumption and use of a consumer cooperative. The fourth quadrant (high in importance but low in practice) consisted mainly of the question of ethical production of human rights, animal welfare and the environment. A particular point is that the third quadrants, although they have been considered important in the past, showed low importance, indicating that current consumers do not associate ethical consumption with the region or recognize it as a concept of a community movement.
