The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of developmental assets of immigrant youth on the citizenship of community. The subjects of the study were 294 youth migrant students attending 4th, 5th, 6th grade in elementary school and middle school and alternative school student. The sampling method was intentional sampling. Data were analyzed by regression analysis using SPSS 21.0 program. The results are as follows. The factors that influence the citizenship of communityism are support, scope and expectation, social ability, positive identity. Factors influencing participation consciousness, sub - factors of communityism are support, capacity building, constructive use of time, social ability, positive identity, and period of residence in Korea. Factors affecting community consciousness are support, scope and expectations, positive values, social competence, and positive identity. Support, scope and expectation, learning enthusiasm, positive identity, age were statistically significant factors in national and historical consciousness. The results of this study suggest that policy, educational, and social concerns are needed to enhance support, social competence, and positive identity in order to strengthen the citizenship of communalism in migrant background youth.
