The present paper examines the case of a convergence-based coteaching subject of classics established at University D. Although the significance of classic education in university education is widely acknowledged, managing a sustainable subject of classic education is challenging due to various practical conditions. Therefore, this study aims to investigate how to develop and manage a sustainable subject of classic education and how classic education can foster innovation in university education in Korea. To achieve this goal, the study examines the development process and practical management of the subject ‘Reading the World through Classics’, which serves as a classic education model at University D. Notably, the classic education model at University D adopts a convergence-based co-teaching approach, which is rare in Korea. As such, the findings of this study may provide an exemplary case for the innovation of classic education and university education in Korea.
