The aim of this study is to analyze the two units, in elementary school music textbook for the 3rd-4th grdes effectively improves the ability of children’ understanding of music and cultures of other countries, in accordance with the text book's songs in an main point of the 2007 Revised Curriculum, ‘n Acceptance of Various Musical Cultures.’ The results are as follows: In the musictextbook for the 3rd-4rth grades in elementary school the proportion of songs related to world music is 8.6%, which indicates that, its weight is distinctively low. The activity elements in relation to world music are completely constituted of singing activities in which there is no musical piece related to creating, playing, and listening. In the contextual elements, the explanation of the contents of a song in a different country is too brief, and it is written in Korean according to Korean pronunciation of the original language of the song and translated into Korean. In the elements of it a way of life, there are songs with a educational course of making it familiar with oneself and doing some folk games and dances in case of the 3rd grade textbook and in case of the 4th there are songs in doing so.
