University students' stress and smartphone addiction are very serious. It is urgent to study how to reduce the addiction and stress of smartphone. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of meditation training on stress and smartphone addiction of university students. The results of the experiment designed for 160 college students are as follows. First, meditation training has a negative impact on stress for them. Secondly, meditation training has a negative impact on smartphone addiction. The implications of this study are as follows. First, this study has a theoretical contribution in that it examines the effects of meditation training on smartphone addiction and stress on the basis of experiment design. Second, university students are expected to have a positive effect if they participate in meditation training, or provide meditation classes or training programs to students at universities. Third, it is necessary for the government to provide various support to each university when creating a meditation lecture or a meditation institute. The limitations of this study and the direction of future research are also presented.
