Graphical User Interface (GUI) is an integral component in designing, developing, and deploying a complete embedded application on an industrial scale. The challenge of designing a graphical user interface GUI application arises from the choice of choosing a licensed or open-source development framework tool, and how much resources will it cost. This paper introduces an open-source graphical user interface GUI composer, a cloud-based development architecture for developing a lightweight desktop application for the internet of things (IoT), wireless sensor networks (WSN), industrial control systems, and other embedded applications using a rich library of hypertext markup language 5 widgets for Windows, Linux MacOS operating systems. This paper further decomposes and describes the modular component framework and development stage within the cloud. Experiment result of our developed application for a wireless sensor node, shows less memory and CPU usage on a Windows operating system, developing a simple desktop application for an embedded wireless sensor.
