In this paper, we have designed a metallic broadband Fabry-Perot cavity antenna (FPCA) with a simple structure. The application of a dual-layer complementary metal-only partially reflective surface (PRS) provides a positive gradient reflection phase that extends the 3-dB gain bandwidth of the FPCA. Using a four-layer stepped metal ground increases the 3-dB gain bandwidth of FPCA due to its effect on the changes in cavity height at different locations inside the cavity. The simulation results show that our proposed FPCA achieves 33% gain bandwidth and a peak gain of 15.98dBi. Thanks to its simple structure and broad gain bandwidth, it can be applied in the field of broad wireless communication in the future.
