Leakage current of high voltage equipment is an important parameter to reflect its insulation state. In the practical application of on-line monitoring system for high voltage equipment, it is necessary to install leakage current sensors to measure the leakage current. Because of the leakage current is a weak signal, we usually need to design a magnetic field concentrator to amplify the measured signal which used on leakage current sensor based on Hall effect or magneto-resistance effect, in order to improve the sensitivity. This paper designed different kinds of magnetic field concentrator by focusing on two typical application scenarios: hollow steel column and grounding bar. The optimal structural design is put forward by simulation analysis. Concentrating efficiency of the magnetic field concentrator is also evaluated by developing and testing of a prototype.
