Each beam of the composite multi-beam antenna is formed by a single-input and multi-outputs beam-forming network (BFN), which is excitated by the pass ports with a certain amplitude and phase. So it is the key to ensure that the pass performance of the BFN meets the requirement of space application. This paper lists some key technologies of this kind of network, and present a BFN with 24-input and 81-output ports. This paper gives the measurement results of passing amplitude and phase performance of the BFN under the normal temperature, as well as under the high-low temperature cycles. The test result shows that the measured amplitude and phase curves of the BFN are in good agreement with the simulated curves. The fluctuation of the amplitude and phase is small during the high-low temperature cycles as well. Which verifies the effectiveness of these key technologies in ensuring the BFN fulfill the requirements of space applications.
